I’m trying to figure out what could be causing my 5 month old to break out in this red rosy rash on her cheeks. We started intruducimg purees around 4 months and she’s handled everything very well. It seems if she’s either hot or has any kind of food she gets this rash? She wakes up with it , it clears throughout the day and then comes back periodically. I make sure she’s dressed super light ( we are in NJ and weather here is around 70-80 degrees) so I keep her dressed on the light side. I’m just not sure what it could be. She’s also probably teething ( we give her teething toys ) but the rash also gets a bit pimply. We’ve been to the doctor 3x for it. No answers. I put aquaphor on it also because sometimes it seems to get hard and scaly almost.

it's Teething and contact dermatitis. my little one got exactly like this a few days before his first tooth broke through. it's from the constant drool, and the irritation from teething. my son's cheeks were even hot to the touch.
as soon as his tooth broke through it magically went away.

Teething! And/or the transition from winter to spring can cause dry red skin — aquafor should help

Mine got this when he started sleeping on his stomach at night from the friction of the sheet. I just put aquaphor on it before bed and that cleared it up right away.
