Making low carb simple

Instructions

  1. Start with the lime mayonnaise. Stir in the lime juice and the zest into the mayonnaise. Add salt to taste. Set aside until serving.

  2. Heat the coconut oil in a large frying pan or a wok on fairly high heat. Add cabbage, curry paste, and water. Sauté until the cabbage has softened, but is still chewy. Stir thoroughly. Salt and pepper. Add the sesame oil towards the end and keep hot while frying the salmon.

  3. Season the salmon with salt and pepper on both sides. Add the sesame seeds to a plate and dip the salmon to cover.

  4. Fry the salmon in coconut oil on medium-high heat for a couple of minutes on each side. Pour fat/juices over the salmon during cooking in order to keep it warm and moist.

  5. Serve the salmon with curry cabbage, lime mayonnaise, and a lime wedge.

Tip!

Let the salmon sit at room temperature before frying, so it's not cold when you add it to the frying pan. If you add a piece of cold salmon to your pan the temperature drops, and you will end up with boiled fish instead of sautéed.You could also add cilantro to the mayo, for an extra depth of flavor!

My husband and I both enjoyed this dinner very much. The lime mayo was very good with the sesame salmon. I am full and content right now with no need to eat anything sweet. I had green beans already cooked so used them instead of the cabbage. They weren't our favorite recipe. The dinner went together very quickly.

This was FABULOUS!!!! Loved it! I only ate 1/2 the amount of cabbage as I like to keep my carbs under 10. This will be. regular from now on for me as I'm trying to incorporate more salmon into my diet. Thanks for the wonderful, easy meal. :)

Both the salmon and the cabbage were okay but each seemed to be missing some counter note that I couldn't quite figure out. Once I added the mayo/lime dressing to each, that did the trick. The tart, cooling lime was the perfect counter balance to the heat of the cabbage dish and it also added just the right touch of sweetness to the sesame salmon. Thanks!

This was such an amazing recipe. The cabbage, salmon and lime dressing eaten all together are the way to go with this. Individually, the items are tasty. Together, they're outstanding. The flavor profile reminded me of going to a nice California French style restaurant.
