As everyone knows, I absolutely love to shop. When I'm in the market for luxury goods, I make it a point to visit a few local luxury resale spots to see if they have anything unique that catches my interest.
Yesterday, my mother and I decided to browse a normal consignment store on our regular stop list; Sugarbaker's Classy Consignments. Secretly, I wanted to try on a pair of Manolo flats they had to gauge my size. I can confirm that my foot does NOT fit into a size 6 in that brand, haha. After this trip, we ventured to about five different stores we had never been to before. From those visits, I've curated a list of top three with information about their inventory and pricing ranges to help you next time you're luxury resale shopping in the Ville.
The first store I want to highlight is Sugarbaker's Classy Consignments. Located at 250 N Hurstbourne Pkwy, this place is one of my favorite weekly stops. You never know what treasures you’ll find, from vintage jewelry to Manolo and Prada shoes. This month, I'm on a strict no-buy, so it took everything in me not to purchase these Cinq a Sept suits. I'll drop a picture of them below. The staff here is always friendly, and the inventory is constantly changing, which is why I visit so often. The prices are very reasonable, and they often have sales. For example, both of those suits were 50% off $199.95—not bad for such a high-quality brand. Sugarbaker’s often has a great selection of St. John and Escada, and I also love their jewelry. You never know what you might find! You’ll catch me here almost every Saturday so if you see me say Hi!
The next spot on my list is Belle Monde, and let me tell you, I was in luxury heaven. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place before! Located at 115 Fairfax Ave in a charming little house, this store is a treasure trove of high-end fashion. I was surrounded by Gucci, Valentino, Prada, and Dior, to name a few. The store is stunning, with each room offering a different vibe. One room is almost entirely dedicated to "black office" attire, giving major Devil Wears Prada vibes in the best way. I was floored with this place!
Spotted those Prada heels and were not my size but I LOVED them. They also had a pair of vintage Dior heels that I would have grabbed if they were my size, especially at just around $140—a fantastic deal! The employees were incredibly friendly and even complimented my handbag (which I made in France), made my freaking day. The store has a fantastic selection of loafers, heels, handbags, dresses, office wear, and more. They work with partners who seem to sell items directly from their own closets to the store. One of the staff members (Ashlea) mentioned they’re expecting a shipment soon from a partner who wears my size in shoes, so you’ll definitely see me there again!
This place gave me serious Bergdorf vibes, so I know it will be a new favorite spot. They also offer closet clean-out services if you need a refresh.
My final shopping destination for the weekend was a quaint establishment called Secrets Resale Boutique, a locally owned gem that operates solely on Saturdays. Despite being my first visit, I can confidently say it's a must-visit. Situated at 1819 Bardstown Road, this boutique has an astonishing array of footwear, surpassing any other resale shop I've encountered. From an abundance of Ferragamo loafers to a tempting pair of Prada Mules in black (though my heart desired them in brown), the selection was remarkable. Call me selective, but when parting with my hard-earned cash, I seek items that inspire obsession for myself, ones I could wear literally seven days a week. While Secrets also offers jewelry and apparel, I'm undeniably drawn to their footwear selection – a self-professed shoe perfectionist, similar to a miniature Carrie Bradshaw. Needless to say, this boutique has earned a spot on my weekly itinerary, and the fact that they have a website is just the cherry on top!
After all that shopping, I was feeling rather thirsty, and what better way to quench it than by visiting my favorite co*cktail lounge conveniently located within walking distance of Secrets. This charming spot goes by the name of Darlings. They serve an absolutely delightful espresso martini. It's just another reason to frequent Secrets – a perfect excuse to swing by Darlings while already in the area.
