Ingredients
- 16.5 oz lemon cake mix
- 2 large eggs divided
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 8 oz pkg cream cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Mix together your cake mix, one egg and butter in a large bowl or with a mixer.
Press your batter into the bottom of a lightly greased 6-quart crock pot and set aside.
In a different bowl, mix together your remaining egg, cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth (I used my mixer.)
Pour your cream cheese mixture on top of your batter and spread evenly.
Place a couple paper towels under your lid, cover and cook on high for 1 1/2-2 hours, turning your slow cooker insert halfway through if your slow cooker doesn't cook evenly

Can this recipe be made in the oven and not crock pot? I need to serve 80 people and would love to try this one.

I have not made this in the oven, but think that it could work. If I tried this in the oven, I would most likely give it a try at 350. I would start checking it around the 20-25 minutes, watching it closely until it is done. I hope this helps. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!Aunt Lou

I’m not sure what I did wrong! Mine was burned on the outside and very runny on the inside! So sad!

Oh no Emily! I don’t think it was you. I think it was your crock pot. It sounds like your crock pot cooks hot. I have a crock pot that does that to me. I tried a recipe in that particular crock pot and got the results you did. I tried the same recipe in a crock pot I know bakes well, and the recipe turned out great. I’m so sorry yours didn’t turn out well. You might try it in a different slow cooker if you have another one.Aunt Lou
