Position Summary

The Coordinator, Material Requisition interacts with Material Planning, Aircraft On Ground (AOG), Purchasing, Repairs, non-maintenance blue cities, and external to JetBlue Airways, to support and monitor material stock requisitions for aircraft components and stock backfill and Blue City requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Balance the system-wide distribution of materials within departments and stations with the focus of Technical Dispatch Reliability.
  • Identify requisition discrepancies and initiate corrective action with Material Planning.
  • Responsible for tracking and monitoring incidents of parts cannibalization, expediting inventory stocking levels and transferring spares as required to the applicable station.
  • Monitor and report on overdue repairs and purchase orders which have an effect on daily operations, and coordinate the expediting of items to the appropriate station.
  • Liaise with contract business partners and station managers to monitor and manage the tooling calibration schedules for non-aircraft maintenance stations.
  • Coordinate with contract Maintenance Manager for station start-up of non-maintenance blue cities by supporting the parts and logistics.
  • Manage and report daily requisition workload for maintenance/Material operations.
  • Coordinate Requests for Pricing Quotes (RFQs) in support of Technical Operation department requirements.
  • Identify and report open transfer orders to Materials Leadership to prevent inventory loss and improve cost expenditures.
  • Research and report critical inventory levels to Materials Leadership to minimize aircraft out of service situations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • One (1) year of inventory management experience
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Depending upon location, may need to possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
  • Ability to use handheld two-way radios, headsets and/or phone
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, travel and/or work variable hours including holiday and weekends
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with an excellent background in Excel
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask and make critical decisions in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (25%)
  • In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
  • Experience using TRAX
  • Two (2) years of inventory management experience
  • One (1) year of airline operations experience
  • Two (2) years of working in an aircraft maintenance, materials, purchasing/supply chain environment
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Airworthy Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs)
  • Knowledge of parts catalog and other technical documents
  • Working knowledge of airline maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of statistical planning methods
  • Planning background

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Physical Effort:

  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. (Light)

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $23.00 and $30.00 per hour. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
