Embracing a new change is easier said than done. Especially when it comes to going for a new hairstyle.

But what are you after? Are you looking for something modern that can shave years off your appearance?

Well, apparently there are five hairstyles which can do just that, according to celeb hairstylists.

So, what are these hairstyles?

A blunt bob

Speaking to FEMAIL, hairstylist Katelyn Alberts recommended the blunt bob as the way forward.

It seems the likes of A-listers Cate Blanchett and Kourtney Kardashian have adopted the style.

Alberts says it helps those with "thin, fragile hair" too and helps create a "fuller and stronger" look.

Meanwhile, celeb stylist Chaz Dean recommends a "chin-length bob" as the short hairstyle is often "been associated with a young, youthful appearance".

Dean suggested going for a "blunt chop or add some airy textured, long layers for a little more fun."

All natural with curls

Halle Berry, Nicole Richie and Khloe Kardashian are just some of the celebs who have embraced their curly hair.

Alberts recommends "avoiding heat styling" to help make your hair look "shiny and healthy".

She added: "Shorter hair elongates your features and draws others' attention up towards your eyes."

Elegant updo

Celeb hairstylist Garren says there is "nothing more beautiful and ageless than pulled back hair that is swept away from the face, whether centre parted or slicked back."

He added that this hairstyle is great for "unmanageable hair" but is "always flattering."

Celebs who we have seen embrace this hairstyle include Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson and Reese Witherspoon.

French fringe

Hair expert Frédéric Fekkai says the look is a "soft and swept fringe".

"French curtain bangs add romance and playfulness, contributing to a fresh appearance," he added.

Jane Birkin is a perfect example with other celebs such as Alexa Chung and Suki Waterhouse adopting this hairstyle too.

Long, long, long

While many people say you can't have longer hair when you reach a certain age this seems to be a lie when it comes to the hair experts.

Celeb hairstylist Davontae Washington says that women shouldn't be afraid to keep their hair long just as long as it is healthy.

Davontae said: "Many times we will keep longer styles, but the ends may appear stringy or you will see a lot of split ends popping out."

Cher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Demi Moore and Naomi Campbell are just some celebs with longer hair.
